Stabler Library Collection

Stabler Library Collection

The Ed Stabler Collection consists of over1000 titles published from the 1960s to the present. The primary focus is on running, track, and related topics, including health, sports, women in sports, biographies, nutrition, disability, and juvenile running literature. While the collection primarily consists of books, it also includes other formats like video, microform, and serials. Due
to its broad scope, the collection is integrated into relevant subject areas across the Syracuse University Libraries.

Members of the Syracuse Chargers

Syracuse Chargers members are eligible to apply for a Syracuse University Libraries’ card which allows them to borrow print materials from Bird Libraries (Law Library materials are not included). The 2025 open enrollment period is February 1st – March 7th. Members can register here. Your library card will be mailed directly to you after the enrollment period ends.

Members only need to register once, as access renews automatically each year provided membership remains current. Any lapse in Chargers membership will result in suspension of library access. SU Libraries will review accounts annually to verify that your Chargers membership is active and your library accounts are in good standing.

Members who join the Syracuse Chargers outside the open enrollment period must wait until the next annual enrollment period.

SU Libraries Borrowing Policy:

Members are responsible for all materials checked out in their name, as well as any fines and charges incurred.

Borrowing privileges are contingent upon continued eligibility and compliance with all borrowing rules and library usage policies. SU Libraries reserve the right to revoke borrowing privileges and forward unpaid charges to a collections agency.
